Vintage Dutch Gold Wash Steeplechase Horse Medal on Sterling Chain

This gorgeous medal is truly remarkable. Originating from Manege van der Velde) in the Netherlands. It was a historical riding school located in Scheveningen, Netherlands. Known locally as the "Oude Van der Velde," it was a prominent fixture in the area's equestrian community for decades and famously collaborated on regional riding camps and tours during the 20th century. Measuring 2 3/8" in diameter, this medal consists of sterling silver washed in gold. The medal was given as an award at a riding competition and engraved on the back. The medal has been bezel wrapped in sterling silver and suspended from a 20" long sterling silver chain. Rare and one-of-a-kind.
