Jaques Cartier was one of two sons of the founder of Cartier Jewelers. He and his brother took over the running of the business when the father retired. Prior to this however, Jacque was a medalist and a sculptor. This bronze medal is a rare example of his work. The 1 5/8" medal is prong set in sterling silver and suspended from a 20" adjustable necklace of hand-knotted freshwater pearls.
